Looking to join a team near Madison Wisconsin
Right now I just want to learn as much as I can as I just stumbled across my first BP video yesterday. I tore through probably 10 podcasts. I'm totally in the gather information stage. Hoping to get some replies from people near Madison that would be willing to show me the ropes. Currently 34 years old. By trade I'm a System Administrator that works from home. I'm great with IT, could be a valuable asset on any teams, But I don't know what I'm doing in regards to real estate and am looking for guidance. I currently have a cheap rental that I paid off in 2015 that has stayed occupied as long as I've had it since 2013. I also recently purchased a house with a 30 year mortgage in 2017 with my fiance. I don't know the game, but am eager to learn and contribute. I wouldn't know what questions to ask. I'm probably in the save up a cash reserve phase to use as a down payment if I could find a property. I'm pretty handy myself, I've done all of the repairs on my properties, and I've helped build 2 houses out of pole sheds. Being in IT i'm all about automation. I'm buying some books on creative financing because I'm pretty sure that will be my initial hurdle. I have a friend (that I haven't spoken too about this yet) who is a real estate agent here in Madison. I'll likely reach out too. I'm interested meeting up with people buying them coffee and picking their brains, and getting brain dumps from them to learn the process.
Cheers,
-Lee

Hi Lee and welcome. I'd recommend connecting with the REIA and also the group that @Hussain Harun and Chela run.
Is your rental that is paid off local?
