Real virtual wholesaling and flipping

Hi everyone. I am an American who has lived and worked in Asia for over a decade, and am now married to a local person here. I have been interested in real estate investing for a long time and own several rentals in the US. But I really want to start wholesaling and flipping. I have been stuck in the education phase for years and feel I would have taken action if I actually lived in the US. But alas I fear that my absence will lead to disaster that I can't now foresee. I need help!

I am hoping that some of you experienced investors might find it an interesting thought experiment to help me see what hurdles there may be and how I can get over them. This may give me the confidence I need to start.

Some advantages I have are that I am a teacher and therefore can be in the US for some months and I make a fairly good salary with low living expenses and do have some cash. Thank you in advance.
