(Need Direction)Considering selling my home to use the equity to invest.
Hello Everyone!
This is my first post on BP. I have for years been very interested in getting into real estate like most I can assume. A friend of mine were talking about real estate and he made a suggestion that I hadn't thought about. Sell my home and rent and use the equity to invest. My wife and I have parents that are empty nesters and do have room for our family so renting wouldn't need to be necessary If we decided to live with them.
I'm our home base business has been struggling this year and to the point I'm starting a new job in about 2 weeks time. I haven't worked for anyone in 20 years! We currently live on an income of $3-3500K per month with 5 kiddos! You must be thinking how in the world do you live off that? My wife and I are on the same page we have savings and we are not big spenders.
Anyways trying to see if this risk of uprooting my family to make a hopefully wise investment seems doable? I'm thinking I'll have $300,000 to play with after the sale of my home.
Was thinking of an investment in a large apartment complex or storage units. I'm homing to get something that can produce $10,000 profit per month. I just don't know if that's do able?
If you where in my shoes what would you do or invest into to replace your income?
Thanks guys I hope to get some good info.
