Low Income Housing Credits

Hi All,

I'm working on a strategy to develop low income housing.  I know of a program that helps out with larger projects (48+ units) but I'm looking at building single family houses.  Does anybody know of any incentive programs that help build low income single family homes?  I'm in South Carolina, if that makes a difference.

I'm also looking for information on Green Building credits for using energy efficient materials if anybody knows about that too.

@Andrew Merritt

Location definitely matters. This is a hyper local issue. I would start by talking to your city planning department and then your county planning department. There may be statewide initiatives that work with state and federal funding but almost all of these programs get implemented at the local level. Start local and then work your way up until you find your answer.
