Hello everyone,

I am starting my journey know worth buying and making offers on a properties and one thinking to increase the value of a property is by adding bedrooms, and found out that the basement is a great way doing so.

But because I still don’t have experience with the rehab process, I don’t know how much approximately it’s cost to add 1-2 bedrooms and 1 bath into a normal 800~ SqFt basement.

I know that you can’t give me an exact number, but I want more an average amount from maybe your recent projects.

Thanks!

It depends there are way too many variables. Here's what I can tell you almost anywhere in the country that you build more bedrooms in a basement you will need egress. Meaning in case of a emergency you need to be able to get out of the basement in more than one way besides the stairs in the house. Also most places have restrictions on how short a ceiling can be.
