Luxury ADUs in California
Hello everyone,
We are a design-build company based in Spain and Mongolia. Over the past 7 years we have been seeing increased demand from our clients to use existing design and prefab solutions, so we decided to enter the world of modular buildings. We always loved working with clients from the US and are thinking about entering the US market first.
We have developed some modular building models that will be manufactured in Europe using premium materials and equipment mainly from our longstanding suppliers in Spain. We are able to produce the units at under $200 per sqft. thanks to combination of factors. Here is one of our smaller and more affordable (~$160 per sqft with premium finish and fixtures) models:
Our current idea is to first target the high-end, designer ADUs market in the state of California, due to its relatively less stringent permitting requirements.
We would love it if you can share your opinion on the marketability of such premium-quality, design-oriented ADUs or homes at about $150-$200 per sqft plus shipping, permits and site-related costs in the US, particularly California or other states with relaxed regulations for ADU, or if you have suggestions on better/faster/easier ways to enter the US market with such a product.

On the ZNE - just make sure they can have an attractive PV system added to them and can be wired for solar. That's what pretty much all the new prefab companies do. Only a few do the solar installation themselves
