Cost of Underground Pool Removal

Does anyone have experience or knowledge of the complete removal of a buried underground pool? There is an empty lot I'm interested in purchasing but it has a decades old community pool that has been filled in. The lot cannot be utilized until the pool is removed.

Thank you, it's good to hear from personal experience. From what I"ve researched it sounds like quite an undertaking and costly if you want the approval to rebuild on the soil.
