How long should my plumber give me warranty on his work-new home construction?

My plumber bids are offering one year warranty on their work for a new home construction.  The FTC website plumbing work should be warrantied for two years.  How many years do you require your warranties for plumbing, elec., HVAC?  Have you seen issues on new construction arise after the first year?

One year is standard for installation workmanship.

Agree, one year is the standard for workmanship.  Certain components (faucets, toilets, water heaters) will have longer warranties through the manufactuer.

In the real world, unless you have a long term relationship with your trade parnters, you will get very little covered under warranty.
