Including an extension (sqft) and roof installation in solar loan

Hello everyone. Thank you for you advice and insight in advance here.

My sales representative for solar installation let me know a few things during our initial consultation. The first one, I already knew which is that you can generally have a roof repair/replacement included in the solar financing (currently, in Arizona at least, I've been approved for 1.49% for 25 years). There are tiered approval amounts and I qualified for $135k. This was very fortunate because of the other information he told me. That information is that you can include more than just a roof in the financing and that as long as it could be attributed to the solar installation, it would be covered.

My house faces south and I didn't want to have panels on the front of the house so the idea was basically to create a roof - that would cover my back patio - that was pitched facing south. This bleed into the idea that my wife and I had been discussing extending the rear of the house (about 400 sqft) in the future so it came up in conversation and I was told diong it all now, in the financing, would work.

I've had builders out already and they're in touch with the solar company. I wanted them to be connected so that for financing and engineering purposes, they'd be aligned. Anyways, I was told tonight by the builders that the solar financing (not sure if it was the solar company of the finance company that told him) let them know that an extension would not be covered. The last detail I can provide here is that the solar rep even told me that I could even be cashed out up to my loan approval amount, the balance that remained after the builders and solar were accounted for.

Hoping someone has had success with the plan that I'm trying to execute. This 1.49% is the last cheap money out there and is a great way to hedge inflation.

Thank you once again!
