How big of an umbrella policy should I get?

The cost of umbrella insurance is incredibly cheap. The price difference on policies between $1m, $2m, $3m etc is pretty miniscule.  The reality is you are likely never going to need the insurance, so get the amount that makes you feel comfortable, because thats really what its there for, comfort.

    @Brandon Shreffler I'm no insurance "guru" but I've always kept an umbrella policy that is slightly larger than my net worth.

    I typically suggest the same thing to my clients @Travis Watts ( I work in the insurance industry as a broker all over the country).
