should I make copy of my apartment units keys even if I have a pm

I have a property management company for my 6 unit apartment complex. Should I make a copy of the all the keys before I give them to my property manager?

Just a quick thought, beings the locks are under a master key there is a company called "Knox". They produce a locked box that is secured by a lock that only your Fire Department can access. By installing one at the front of that property the Fire Department will see the reflective decal and know that box has everything needed to access all doors on the property saving you hundreds of dollars in damage due to forced entry situations. If the property has Motor Gate Entry the box will be part of installation, so the FD can switch the gates open.

One of the best reasons why you  need a set of keys as the owner is if your PM company decides to close it doors overnight and refuses to answer your calls/emails.  It may sound extreme, but it has happened...

Get a key box and forget about it until the time comes that you need the keys.

@Syreeta Thibodeaux I have all of my apartments master keyed through land lord locks. I personally like to be able to get into all the units even though I have a property manager for my 20 unit in South Bend.
