information on Foreclosures

I am interested in a house that I know is in foreclosure  , I have contacted the trust company, they refereed me to the mortgage holder.  The mortgage holder  said they could not give me any information on house until it goes up for sale.  Am I taking the right steps, or should I have done something different?

Your input is greatly appreciated.

you are spinning your wheels if you are trying to contact parties that don't own the property. If you can't get a hold of the owner and negotiate a sale, you'll have to wait until it goes up for auction. While there are tons of people that will tell you that you can talk to the lender/servicer/bank/attorney, and that they've done it, or they have friends that have done it, the reality is, that is urban legend that does not exist for us mere mortals.
