I am confused on an appropriate contract for conducting short sales and what clauses should be in there.

What should be put there to protect me as an investor?

Also an assignment clause is it necessary in the option contract when conducting short sales.

Short sales are not assignable, so you do not want one showing up in your contract submitted to the bank. It will just likely kill time. There is also one on my website.
