Hey all, I have a friend that lives in Auckland, New Zealand and is wanting to get into commercial and multi-family specifically there. Does anyone know if commercial investing there is the same as it is here in the states? What would be some differences?

I know its a bit late - but real estate investing in New Zealand is tough. The Auckland market is one of the least affordable real estate markets in the world.
Its virtually impossible to find positive cashflow unless you have a massive deposit or renovate/add value after purchase.
I've done a tiny bit of research into commercial investing - and the numbers up front seem to be fairly similar to residential, just bigger. Though this is just on the surface. I'm sure there are a few more complexities that I'm not aware of.
