Rental Trends in Texas

I'm looking into acquiring rental properties in an area of Texas. The market has promising properties when running the numbers however when I did some research the amount of people renting SFH's is only 25%. Is that too low of a percentage to purchase single family homes? Does anyone pay close attention to this statistic?
