Polybutylene pipes in the house
I'm under a contract to buy a 4.5 bathroom house. After the inspection discovered that it has polybutylene pipes throughout. Built in 1991. Requested for seller to have the house repiped, they refused. Looking to see what more experienced folks would suggest to do about it: try to negotiate further, walk away or take a chance with it as is? Any input appreciated!

Its all about probability. They have a higher chance of leaking/bursting...but of course in plenty of houses they are perfectly fine. Typically if that house has it, the entire neighborhood has it. So it is worth exactly what every the other houses in the neighborhood are selling at. The flaw is already built into the price.
