ActiveRain.com....just another scammy website?

This is a warning to agents, brokers and investors who may be considering joining ActiveRain.com as a way to generate new relationships. Why the warning? Not unlike the infamous Eagles song, Hotel California, you can join but you can never leave.

I joined this ActiveRain well over a decade ago and recently found in an online search of my name that I had never deleted my account, which I haven't used in more than a decade. It was at that point that I realized what a scam looks like. There is no way for a member to delete their account! You must contact their support staff (if you can actually call them support) via email since there is no phone number for this company. The "support team" will then read your email and subsequently refuse to take action. In other words, once you're a member, you're a member for life whether you want to be or not. I presume they do this because they can boast they have 300K plus members so they can charge more for advertising when in fact, they refuse to give any member the right to terminate their account and the support team refuses to delete it for you.

I found many, many instances of this same issue with other members of ActiveRain who also were not allowed to terminate their account. In my case, all my information is incorrect and I can't login to change it. I made numerous requests to have my account removed and each time it was ignored. I have email tracking so I know dates and times the emails were opened, then no response.

BEWARE OF JOINING ACTIVERAIN...LIKE ME, YOU MAY BE VERY SORRY YOU DID!
