County Property Appraiser Questionaire
Recently bought a flip (my first flip!) and received the standard property appraiser questionnaire in the mail a month or so after purchase. I've never thought twice about sending this back to them before on my personal residences or rentals (side note: I accidentally reported buying my last house for waaay more, thinking they were asking for sale price/details on of my rental I purchased :P, so Zillow showed a HUGE discrepancy in the sale price, boosting the always spot on Zestimate...), but I was wondering is there any REQUIREMENT or real perceived benefit to submitting this to them outside of my accidental Zestimate manipulation (which I wouldn't do again, or intentionally)? I know they use it for getting additional information on the property like sale details, renovations to the property, sale price, etc. But since it's a flip, and I don't want any headache on county inspectors, etc, getting into the middle of something that there's no need to get into, and delaying the flip process for any reason (not doing anything illegal, getting permits for new windows, etc, but never know with previous owner's reno, etc). Also don't know how buyers really feel seeing a house sell for $166k, then $173k (bought from wholesaler so original sale registered at the original contract, but I bought it for $173k) and then they're buying it for $240k after renovated for example. Looking for some thoughts on the matter from more educated and expert opinions out there.
