Getting over the initial money hump

So I've missed out on 2 good opportunities so far because i didnt have a ton of money upfront. I just can't seem to break the cycle. How did you get the money for your first deal?

Honestly, and I’m not trying to be rude here, if $10,000 was just too much to come up for a down payment you are not ready to start purchasing rental properties (in my opinion only of course).
