Raw land investing/ land academy

Ian Poole
Posted

Hello! I stumbled upon a podcast for raw land investing with Jill and Steven butala. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this program. I am a novice investor. I have experience with a few rentals but I was attracted to this concept because they use a lot of data collection services to create mailing lists.
I thought learning how to develop a mailing list would be a a valuable skill.

But, the service is about 2000 to sign up and 250 a month to access the discounts on their websites and their plan for raw land flipping. The mailing lists look like they would cost about 1000-1500 a piece to get a large enough pool of candidates they say are necessary to procure a deal. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi @Ian Poole,

I've heard from other land investors that started off with Land Academy that it is a pretty good program and taught them everything they need to know to get started.

I started off my investment journey in land with RETIPSTER.  I personally thought the program was good and I got through all the modules within a week.

In terms of time investment, I work a full time job and would spend a couple hours about 3 times a week sending out mailers or doing my due diligence.  I would say the challenge for me was taking sales calls during the day, some calls would last 2 minutes and others could last an hour (I'm also really bad at hanging up).  I know some investors that do it full time and others that do it as passive income.  I know some investors that really don't like talking on the phone, so they hire local Real Estate Agents that will handle everything for them.

I hope that helps! I'm a newbie to Real Estate investing but thought if I could contribute anything to this community, it would be my experience with land investing.  Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
