How much do wholesale deals make on average?

Hey BP community!  I am curious to hear how much people make on wholesale deals.  The numbers I have come across seem to be around the 3K-11K per deal mark.  Also, as a bonus, how much did you make on your first-ever wholesale?

@Collin Emerson Miller there is no average. Depends on your market and your experience in negotiations with the seller and with your buyer. Check out the BP podcast from a couple weeks ago with Dr Joe, he paid the wholesaler 25K. For DC (my market) that is not a high or outrageous assignment fee. A friend of mine, they pulled a 80K assignment fee in DC. Buyer gladly paid it for the deal.

very regional and asset class driven..

last year I paid 125k for an assignment of a 5.5 million dollar deal.. so it depends @Caleb Heimsoth as caleb stated though in the lower value asset areas that I also fund on the east coast its very common to have a bunch of wholesalers on the same hud.. 500.00 1k 2k.. but I have seen houses bought for 10k and sold for 40k with wholesaler making 30k..

The current teaching tells folks that 5k is the minimum target. With that being said 5k is not easy peasy to just stroll out and make. The last couple of wholesale deals I did was way over 5k, but I closed on subject properly first and was prepared to keep it. In a competitive market it may take more than 5k in marketing to land a deal and if your completely green or new to a market then you might not know a good deal from a dud so the marketing budget might need to be higher. .... Don’t quit your day job to soon ;)
