Quit investing at what age?

Is there a time say hang up the spurs? When should you stop investing and reap your life long investments?

@Randy L. Baab Never! I'd say maybe the investments shift and maybe you become less active but I will always be investing, especially in cash flowing real estate!

Why would you ever stop?   As you get older you should do more investing and less working.

Some people think they are investing but are really working a job.  When you truly are just doing hands-off investing I don't see any reason to stop.

I have never fixed any toilets so far, it all depends how your business is set up.  But I hear you.  Maybe at the age of 87 I don't even want to deal with a Property Management company.

So I'm thinking to hire a Manager to manage the Property Manager! :)

It sounds like you are either a landlord (yes, quit that! it will drive you crazy) or an "equity" holder. When you switch to "cash flow" you don't realize that you are still investing. You are reaping the profits each month like this post shows

I would say, whenever you reached your goals if your current lifestyle will be kept at the same standards and that's all you need.   I will probably stop at the age where my son (now 3) and future children reached out the age of 23-24 (giving them the chance of good college education and post graduate degree, of course if they want to do that).

@Randy L. Baab I don't think I ever will! But then again, my investment plan is designed to be as hands off as possible. Definitely don't want to be fixing any toilets when I'm 87 :)

I will always invest in some form and as I age I will transition to passive investing and get away from landlording . Sadly  Life is too expensive and hyper Inflation will always require your money to make money . nothing gets cheaper and as we age our bodies require more health care costs

You stop and sell everything when you want to retire. As long as you continue to own income properties you will never be retired, you will work to the grave.

My goal is age 70. In another 4 years I hope to liquidate everything and invest in passive income funds. I have been moving my equity over to funds now for several years in preparation to sell.
