I am relatively new to real estate sales, but I am learning more about investing everyday and hope to start working with investors soon. I am wondering what are the best ways for me, as a real estate agent, to be an asset to investors? Thank you!
Understand what your client wants. Also understand how open your client it to deviating from what he wants. I gave my realtor a map with a red line on it and said I won't buy houses outside of this area. Occasionally he tosses me a house outside of the red line and I remind him politely I am not interested. It doesn't matter if my red line is a good idea or a bad idea, its knowing that its my idea and understanding why I have drawn the line where I have. So listen but ask good questions so you can be on the same page with your investor.
Thank you Mark! I will definitely pay close attention to what my clients want. I am also thinking of targeting new investors and offering consultations to introduce them to the basics of investing. And having questionnaires to help them formulate their criteria, goals, strategies and so on. That way we should both be clear on exactly what they want.
