I have a buyer whos lender wants a copy of the HUD-1 on a house that was sold in 2003. They don't recall the agent or the title company because it was so long ago. Does anyone know how to get this, and why they would want it?
The buyer or the seller should have received a copy. The lawyer used during the transaction should have it or the mortgage company. Sometimes the real estate agents. Depends on everyone's records retention policies at the time. The Hud-1 is a proof of settlement.
