Best way to track commercial/residential demand patterns?

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone had any good resources for finding data on commercial and residential tenancy demand rates. Is this aggregated by the govt anywhere? I feel as though it would be included in census studies. For instance, job market is +4.5 in this region and -1.2 in this region. Thanks for any and all help! Tom
