Burlington Vermont Mall Renovation

Hi fellow Vermonters

I wanted to discuss the current plan for renovating the Burlington mall. It looks like over 270 units will be created. At first this discouraged me because the vacancy rate in Burlington has already increased a bit in the last couple years... We have seen a decline in the Chittenden county population as well. So more supply could hurt us landlords a bit! However, it also estimates around 1000 new jobs which is encouraging. Vermont needs new businesses in our economy as IBM lays off more, we can't rely on a couple big corporations. Anyways just wanted to hear some other opinions on the matter... I am still going back and forth but think if this really will provide new jobs it could be great.
