Would it be worth it to get a real estate license? What doors would having a real estate license open I really don't want to become a real estate agent/sales person but would it help me in any way to flip homes whole sale properties etc?

If you build a good relationship with a realtor, that is sufficient to be a successful investor. If you are looking for a job in the business then get a license. I've seen a lot of people keep busy when they have a license but not make much money. The MLS is only one source of deals. I think you will find more properties by spending a fraction of the time investigating those other sources and let your agent search the MLS and the hot sheets. As an investor your time is better spent building relationships that can fund your deals, buy your properties, do the rehab, etc. I have found that the price it costs for a good agent is well worth it.
