I was running the numbers on a 4-plex in the Gulfport area and was shocked at the property tax amount. A property listed for under 200k is paying $1,200 per unit in annual property taxes for a total of $4,800.

That sounds awfully high to me. We are buying a parcel with 3 duplexes and 1 fourplex on it and the taxes are about 6k or $1500 per building, or $600 per unit. Where did you get that number from? We called the county tax assessor.
