Moving to Los Angeles| Tips or Suggestions?

Hey guys! I'm new to this place but read the forums and listen to the podcast daily. I am moving to Los Angeles in a few month because of my job. I'm looking into buying a house. My job will be on the west side close to the LAX area. Any tips or suggestions for buying in the area? I am interested in properties that need some work to fix up myself, learn, and set myself up to grow in real estate. I appreciate the feedback!

@Colton Kennelly

The reason LA is a "crazy market" is just there is low inventory so houses are regularly going for over ask and just a few days on market. There is a lot of competition right now.

I would suggest visiting and finding the right neighborhood. There is no way to know a neighborhood is right by viewing it online, and having an agent or someone else look at property for you as a primary residence is just asking for trouble.
