Detroit Advice

I'm new BP member but have been reading this forum for the past 2 months. Congrats on this forum BTW.Fantastic site.  It has served to be source of great information for me. It also is nearly solely responsible for robbing me of sleep as I spend hours drawn into the vortex of the trove of information it provides :-)

I will be in Detroit in about 2 weeks and wondered if any experienced investor in the Detroit market would be willing to meet with me to provide tips for investment. If anyone is free for breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee, drinks (on me, of course) ... I would be grateful. Ideally, I'm looking to purchase properties that will be able to attract young professionals AND provide a decent ROI. 10-15% is okay for me since I'm in this for the long haul and I am seeking to diversify my retirement portfolio. Of course, I won't say no to more than 15%. I live in NV and so would need advice on how to build a trusted team of PM, RE and possibly repair/remodel personnel in the event that I purchase fixer-uppers.

Areas of interest are Midtown/Corktown/New Center. Now I only know about these because of the much-spoken of transformation happening there. I would also be keen on areas that adjoin those in the hopes that as those prices increase, my properties can benefit from the spillover of people looking for lesser rent while remaining close to the action.

Given my remote location I would prefer turnkey properties (for my own peace of mind), but would be willing and able to do fixer-uppers, if the numbers suggest that it's viable.

Looking forward to hearing from someone.

Thanks
