investing with contractor

Sybille Zieske
Posted

Hi there! My husband and I have been turning a few properties in Colorado. We have worked with a couple of contractors and one of them wants to invest with us. There are a few issues and questions I have on how to make this work. Historically this contractor has been a little pricey and always wants to use the cheapest materials from his vendors, which we have nixed. We do more upscale (nothing crazy) remodels. The question I have is how do we invest with him? I would imagine we would have a deal that would include us buying the property and him doing the work, which would be his contribution. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of a transaction? I would love some advice.

Thank you,

Sybille
