Hey family,

I’m just wondering how do you pick a good contractor? What’s the average price of a contractor ? And what methods have you used to find your contractors ?

Thank you for the help fam!

@Christopher Wall that's a million dollar questions right there.  There really is no average cost per contractor as they usually quote total jobs and don't provide  hourly rates.  You may be able to get an hourly rate from a handyman but, a contractor usually just provides a quote.

We do everything in house now because I could NEVER find a reliable, fairly priced contractor.

However, if I were you I would try, putting a post out there on FB, going onto the site Thumbtack, Angie's list, or just hang out at Home Depot from 7a-9a and ask people that park in the pro section of the parking lot if they are licensed contractors.

Word of advice, don't hire people without insurance.  If they can't afford insurance, they are not legit contractors and you don't want them working on your home.
