Redo appraisal due to no double strap water heater?

I just recently got a text message from my lender stating that we needed to do another appraisal because there was weren't double straps on the water heater and no smoke detectors. I'm currently in California in the process of buying a home and paying being asked to pay for another appraisal ($500) is frustrating. Any advice on my options?
