Keller Williams v. eXp Who has done both?

Hey everyone!

I have been investing for a few years now with house hacks/holds and just started with my first Airbnb. I decided to leave Active Duty as an Army Officer to focus more on investing, and being an agent in the Boise, Idaho area.

I think I have narrowed my choices down to KW and eXp, but looking for more personal experiences that agents experienced with both.

If you worked for both, why did you leave one for the other?

My main concern for eXp is the cloud-based brokerage, this seems like it can be a positive and a negative for a new agent, and would love to hear more people's experiences as new agents with this model.

The commission split seems better with eXp which leaves me as the KW being on the less money in my pocket side, which is my concern there.

Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences and look forward to the discussion!

@Eric Giovannucci As mentioned, each KW office is different. My wife's office actually has a lower split than eXp. We have researched and compared them both. And have spoken with people that have been at both and asked why they switched or what they like/dislike of each. In the end, as mentioned above, the split is not the biggest concern. Especially as a new agent, what will be most important for you is your broker and the training provided. I know of someone that left KW for eXp only because her broker was not very good to her, but she also does not enjoy eXp and is looking for another to join. It mostly comes down to what your goals are and what you want to achieve. Do you want to be a solo agent or part of a team? There are some great things about eXp that I really like, but those same things for others is not as important. Truly, you can't go wrong with either, I would say talk to the broker for each and see who you feel more comfortable with.
