Realties of being a Realtor

Not meant for doom and gloom but meant to shed light on our profession. It is not as glamorous and easy as it is often portrayed to be. Being a SUCCESSFUL Realtor is extremely hard work and dedication, and yes our commission is worth it

1. Following up with a seller lead for 4 years to lose the business to a family member

2. Giving your Buyer client the best advice about what kind of property to go for and what not to go for, only to find out they purchased a complete dump with another agent

3. Losing a listing opportunity because an agent you don't even know bad mouthed you and told the client things that arent even true or accurate - yes this did happen. I lost a listing where an agent told the client that they knew me, which they didn't and said I mostly only do commercial real estate - 98% of my business is residential

4. Having a few "dead" weeks where no one wants to see houses, so you decide to go down the shore for the weekend. Now all of the sudden 6 clients ask if you can show homes that weekend. (We work around this and find accommodations for our clients no matter what!)

5. You negotiate a deal of a lifetime for a client, send them the contract, and then they get cold feet.

Lets put an end to the sad stuff and I will share some great things about being a Realtor!

1. Helping a friend/client buy their first home. Home ownership is awesome and being a part of it is a truly rewarding feeling

2. Working with some amazing people who really value your time and advice. It is an amazing feeling to help someone who really likes working with you

3. Getting people into the world of Real Estate investing is something I love sharing with everyone. From simple conversation to actually helping the client navigate into a solid property

4. Meeting great people! In our business we don't only work with friends and family. I have met some great people in this business that I have formed a lifetime connection with.

5. Working with great business partners. In this business you will work with other great agents, lenders, title reps, home inspectors, and finding great people in these professions is always a rewarding feeling. Forming business connections that turn into friendships!
