Real estate agent advice

Anthony Legg
Posted

Hey BP community I’m a young real estate agent just starting out my career. I wanted to ask any experienced agents what do you do to get a thorough understanding of your local market so you can provide the most value to a client and my second question is why do you think it is that so many agents get started and give up so easily and why is there so many ****** agents running around.
Thanks

Market intelligence gathering is proprietary...it's kind of like asking someone how much money they have in the bank.  Schedule a meeting with your Broker or find a mentor to learn the business.  The reason why so many newbies fail is that it is a hard BUSINESS.  It's not something you can do part-time and you have to KNOW the business of real estate - not the marketing of yourself and it.  Those who know the business are the ones who are valued and succeed.  Those who don't  - in my opinion - are a risk to the general public who are relying on expertise to acquire and sell their largest (if not one of the largest) assets.

Take the time to learn more. It's a complex business and the general real estate course/exam prepares you for nothing.
