Investing with $150k to start with?

Hello, I will be moving back to the USA this time next year and will have around $150,000 in cash to invest in.

I have never invested before. I would like to eventually have a string of real estate investments that generate good income.

What would be the best way to invest? I would like to have rental properties. But if it’s smarter to invest some other way, I’m fine with that as well.

Start building your network of people by going to local meetups. Then choose a market you want to invest in and own it!

The only different advice would be to start with single family homes. They are cheaper and you can always sell to a retail buyer if the property doesn't work as a rental. Whereas in a multi-family, you can only sell based on the NOI.

Also, outside of this post I would never tell another soul you have 150k to invest. If you tell folks you have 150k liquid as a newbie then you're going to have a bulls-eye on your back.

Educate yourself and start small.

Best of luck!
