How does REIPro (and similar programs) generate updated leads?

Hi, all, new hopeful wholesaler here. I was wondering, what does REIPro do to find absentee owners and pre-foreclosure properties, etc, that I could not do on my own - how do they get their data? Same for sites like absenteeownerlist.com. I heard it comes from private companies, but how do those companies get that data and how do we know the data is reliable? How do the different absentee owner lists compare, and is REIPro generally considered reliable for its seller leads?
