Chapter 7 bankruptcy

Manuel Cintron
Posted

Three years ago after a divorce I had to file Chapter 7 bankruptcy.   I’m back on my feet and I would like to find a bank that would loan me money to buy a rental property.  I keep hitting dead ends because it hasn’t been on there for the four years. Does anyone have any suggestions of where I could look or what I could do? I have the 20% to put down. I could pay cash for the house but then that would leave me no money to fix the house. Or should I be looking at another type of property?

Were you able to have any luck securing funding? I am in a similar situation myself and have had troubling securing funding in Ohio due to a Chapter 7 discharge filed 2.5 year ago.
