When should I put up my house for rent in Greer, SC?

I’m moving into my new house end of December. When should I put up my house for rent for a early January move in. The rental house is in Greer, SC. This will my first time renting a house out. Any recommendations for a property manager or real estate agent to find a tenant? I’ve been reading Brandon Turners book on rental property management, but I think I’d rather get help from an agent to find a tenant. I plan on managing the property myself.
