CEO/Executive Looking To Get Into REI

Hello!  I'm a nonprofit CEO and corporate executive who is now between jobs in my career, but I am very interested in real estate investing not using my own money or credit. What can I do to get started? How do I find mentors and meetups in my area? Should I do wholesaling? in my area? Should I do wholesaling?

Maybe you should start by meeting some people.

Check out BiggerPockets/Network/Events.  Here you can enter your zip code and see if there are any meetups in your area that you could attend.  If so, go and start from there.

You might also take a spin around this site.  The podcasts are great.  I started from #1 and have worked my way forward.  Have to say @Brandon Turner and @Joshua Dorkin have come a long way over the years.  Originally, I thought they were too chatty.  After a few shows I realized they are just a couple of friendly guys enjoying what they do and learning along from their guests along with the listener.  I even think they like each other.  And their guests really bring some great info to the table.  As a newbie, you'll soon learn that there a lot of ways to make $ in Real Estate.  Some things might work for you.  Others, not so much.  The podcasts and other reading helps you to identify what you don't know and clarifies some of what you do know.

Best of luck in your journey.

PS If you decide to head to one of the guru's events - you'll learn about those too - just remember to leave your credit cards at home and research on BP before you sign up for anything over $200.
