Student loans or real estate
Hi All,
I currently live in NYC and have been interested in real estate investing for a few years now. I have spent these years learning some of the basics via books/biggerpockets and saving money for a future real estate investment.
BUT...
I have a large amount of student loan debt with an interest rate of approximately 5.5%. I have the ability to completely wipe this debt but I also do not want to part with all of my capital as it will delay my ability to invest. Is there a right or wrong answer? It is a subject widely debated on a number of personal finance sites with many conflicting views.
I'm willing to provide more specific details if necessary and I am very curious what the Bigger Pockets forums have to say!
Thanks,
Dave
