On searching county records in Chicagoland

Hi all! I'm a new wholesaler, kind of learning the ropes with everything all at once. One of the things that I've noticed is that getting my hands on the tax rolls, pre-forclosure lists, evictions, and all other related court records is very hard. I feel like maybe I'm just not approaching it right. I can see what I want to know if I know a specific name, pin # etc, but if I knew that I wouldn't need the records in the first place. Anyone know how I can successfuly navigate the county records? Or where I can learn to do so? Thanks!
