Hello everyone,
I am actively learning/reading about investing in multifamily and would like to become an investor myself. I recently graduate from UTSA with my BBA in Real Estate Finance & Development, and am seeking to expand my knowledge with a reputable company that offers training and support for recent graduates who have not gotten their feet wet yet. I will soon be moving to Dallas Fort Worth and was wondering if anyone could give me any idea of companies I could look into and or any advice. I have been doing some research but have not been able to find much yet. Thank you all for your time and help!

Hi, @Denise Aguirre! Welcome to BP, and congrats on getting your degree!
It's hard to suggest companies w/o knowing what you want to do in RE. If you want to be a residential agent, Keller-Williams is generally acknowledged to provide among the best training. I hear Century 21's is good as well. For commercial, look @ Marcus and Millichap and CBRE.
Core Logic is based in Westlake, and provides a tremendous amount of RE data. We also have no shortage of Corp. HQ in DFW, and most decent-sized companies will have a real estate/facilities group - though it seems like they're not looking for entry-level folks more often than not.
You could also look into property management firms, I'd expect a lot of opportunities there.

Hi @Chris Soignier Thank you I am very excited for my move! I can hardly wait, yet, I am not looking forward to physically move given all the trips that I will need to take to change all my belongings to Dallas. What are you interested/actively learning about RE?

You might have some success by networking with the local brokers. Look at the multifamily investing associations to find those players and work out your google fu from there.

Sure, join a toastmasters meetup and participate. Make this a priority.

This item came up in my email today - but what piqued my interest was you mentioning Toastmasters. This is absolutely right on! I was originally in Toastmaster with a chapter we created in Wichita, on our Learjet campus, and we ended up not only making new friends, but we learned so much about ourselves, creating networks to touch base with and learn from, and it made us better communicators with our families as well.
You should really be a Toastmaster for life - so I need to get back into one near me, and I hope you will find one as well. Good luck!
