New to Investment Properties

Hello Bigger Pockets

My Wife and I (both 28 yo) are new to investment properties and would like to start by supplementing out income as well as prepare for retirement with buy and hold investments. I currently have my contractors license and work as a project manager for a local manufacturing company and she is a Professional Engineer for a local concrete testing company.

We plan on operating out of West Michigan, in the areas of Kalamazoo, Otsego, Plainwell, Allegan, Southern Grand Rapids, out to Holland and down the lake shore.

We are hoping to find some other local investors and professionals that wouldn't mind sharing their experiences in the area. We could also provide any skill trade or engineering advise that you may need to have a well rounded conversation. :)

Thanks for Looking

Brad, welcome to the forum!  I too am a Program Manager, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, so you probably have a solid and logical train of thought!

I have been investing in Grand Rapids for 6 years and am currently seeking other opportunities in GR and surrounding cities such as Kalamazoo, for multi-unit investments that make financial sense.

BP is a great resource for information though meeting up with people face to face is also a good idea. There's an investor meeting every month (2nd Monday I beleive) at BW3s on 44th st. and RPOA has an investors breakfast every Friday.

I'm also happy to meet for coffee and discuss RE and my experiences ( both good and bad!) and assist you in your purchases as required.

Good luck and happy to meet up. Paul
