Why do you suck at it?

Networking is hard when you are trying to get something from it right away. Networking is easy when you are interested, not interesting. Ask questions about what people do, don't talk about yourself. People love to talk about themselves. The more you listen, the more they like you.

I am an introvert and hate networking. I used to stand in the corner because I hate small talk. What I am good at is focusing on a person and asking questions and finding something interesting. Do that.
