new and need help

Hi guys,

I m totally new to real estate investment...never bought a house before.

This seems like a great forum with great memembers...so nice too meet u all

my question is this...I would like to buy a house and rent it out, instead of selling it...

1) how good of an idea is this?
2) Is this the right forum for this?
3) what reserach do I need to do? books, calculations, etc
