First time home buying looking for advise
Hi,
I'm very new to this community and I've been watching a lot of videos, listening to podcasts, and reading books. I feel like I have retained a lot of information it's just that my next step would be to actually start my real estate journey. I am looking to buy at least a condo or something I can afford to get my foot through the door with building my portfolio. I have been communicating with a long term family friend also broker and fellow real estate investor in the OC area. He has told me that I don't make enough income to qualify for an FHA loan (I would need to make 10k a month and I only make about half that). I also have a partner who would apply with me but even then we wouldn't qualify because I look like I have low income for right now. I am wondering if there are any other options for me to get started with building a portfolio, or specifically buying a home/property. I don't know if I have given enough information to have anyone give some advice but if there are any questions that I can answer, I definitely will!
