Newbie in Melbourne, FL.

Hello everyone, I wanted to introduce myself on here because I am very new to REI. My name is Justin and I live in Melbourne, FL. First time I heard about REI was from the BiggerPockets YouTube channel when researching on how to buy a home. My gf and I were planning to buy a home together within the next 6-12 months, I am 26 and she is 23 and we currently live with our parents. But after learning about REI we agreed its what we wanted to do to have the opportunity to be financially free. I've been learning about REI for about a week and a half now, I know there's still tons to learn but were itching to start especially since we were planning on buying a home anyway. A strategy we were intrigued on doing as newbies, is house hacking here in Melbourne, or west palm beach area. We have only about 20k saved, while still working and living frugal. Any tips or suggestions for us newbies on first steps to get started? Thank you!
