Landlord Rental Structure

Hello,

I am interested in purchasing property and renting it out. I am looking for advise on setting up a proper business structure. What has been the most favorable structure for you? I am planning on obtaining a conventional loan to finance a property, I would like to start an LLC or S-Corp for setting up the "business" of the rental. What advice can you give me to separate any personal finances from business finances. Thank you for your time.

Hi Martin,

The post above is very accurate. This is not something that is easy to respond to without nowing your situation and your goals for the future. A properly created structure will be created to fit to your unique scenario. I agree with the suggestion of speaking with an attorney and an accountant to help you figure out what type of structure is best for you. As suggested, it might be possible that you do not even need a structure depending on what your plans are.
